Schreiner’s Fine Sausages

February 22nd, 2013

3601 N. 7th St.

Phoenix, AZ 85014

After my son brought over a slab of fresh bacon and breakfast sausage for Christmas brunch from this local landmark, I have been wondering what took me so long to get there myself. Located in central Phoenix, it is worth a trip to go  and stock up on sliced to order bacon and an array of fine sausages for your freezer. It turns any meal into a special occasion.

Andreoli Italian Grocer

September 22nd, 2009

8880 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale 85258

Closed Sundays

This is Scottsdale’s Italian deli/restaurant like no other. Besides the accent of the clientele which makes you feel like you are visiting Italy, the baked goods, deli meats and cheeses, and entrees are sure to please. I come here especially to buy fresh mozzarella for my Caprese salads. They also sell basic Italian grocery products, including wine to take home.

La Tartine French Bakery

September 22nd, 2009

16650 E. Palisades Blvd. #103, Fountain Hills 85268

The oven  for baking bread and pastries was brought here along with it’s owners, straight from France. Baked fresh daily to go as well as dine in for lunch or a light dinner. It is a shame they settled into such a quiet area as they deserve better exposure. It is the one place in Fountain Hills I truly enjoy.

Croque Famous Sandwiches

February 1st, 2007

13610 N. Scottsdale Rd. #25 @ Thunderbird SW corner

9am-3pm, Mondays-Saturdays

This is an unusual luncheon shop as they use original recipes, fresh ingredients and homemade sauces on their baked baguette sandwiches with a European flair. I rarely order fries while eating out-but always do here.  They have daily specials, homemade soups, and tables outdoors. It’s the food, not the atmosphere that brings back me here!
