Schoolhouse Produce

October 6th, 2009

651 NW 6th St., Redmond OR 97756

Sometimes you have to have faith and dig a little deeper, or just good fortune to stumble upon rare treasures in remote parts. It was a little of both when I found Schoolhouse Produce in Redmond. A small, establishment filled with a variety of wonderfully garden or field grown seasonal, local produce. Also filled with unexpected pleasures like fresh locally harvested nuts, cheeses, wine, eggs, breads and other products.

Terrebonne Depot

October 2nd, 2009

400 NW Smith Rock Way, Terrebonne, OR 97760

An original train depot, refurbished into one of the best restaurants in the area, including patio dining with a delicious view when weather permits. This is often my first stop to have a bite to eat after flying into Redmond, and on to see the majestic Smith Rock while on this side of town. Enjoy huge portions prepared by a conscientious and creative chef using local ingredients as much as possible.
